We are giving glory and thanks to God for you! God is on the move through His people! You have been there for hundreds of young and scared pregnant women who have come to an Informed Choices Clinic in Iowa. You have provided for these women and their families through a warm and caring environment that is a leading, top quality health care clinic with dedicated, compassionate health professionals. You are helping our caregivers touch the lives of thousands of patients – those that are facing an unplanned pregnancy, a devastating disease or seeking to improve their quality of life.
You were there for Alexis. She came into the clinic late one night just before closing. By the look on her face, the nurse knew that she was there for a pregnancy test. Alexis already knew that she was pregnant and in her mind, her only option was abortion. The nurse could see it in the young woman’s eyes that she was filled with fear and questions. As the clinic assistant was checking Alexis in, the nurse called her husband and told him not to wait up for her. She asked him to pray because she was going to go into the consultation room with an abortion minded young woman.
As the nurse sat next to Alexis in the calmly lit room, leading her through the decision guide, she was saddened. Alexis was the same age as her own young daughter. There is never an easy way out of a teen pregnancy. The nurse gathered her strength as she prayed that God would give her words to comfort this sweet scared girl. She informed Alexis about medical and surgical abortions, and they talked in depth about parenting and adoption. After all of the questions were answered and a positive pregnancy test taken, she brought Alexis to the ultrasound room.
The nurse placed the ultrasound probe on her abdomen and as it glided across the warm blue gel, Alexis gasped and hot tears ran down her face. They both watched as this little life in her womb bounced and stretched for several minutes. Finally, Alexis spoke and said “I want to try to do an adoption. Will you help me?”
Alexis’s sweet baby is now celebrating life this Thanksgiving with her new family because of you! With each soul who walks thought the door of one of these clinics, you get to be the hands and feet of Christ by providing truth in love…the truth of life in the womb, God’s plan for sex and marriage, and most importantly, of His unconditional love for them.
