1,300 women similar to Anna’s story found us, but 4,000 women last year did not. Iowa has the highest U.S. rate of usage of the RU-486 pill. When a woman is given this abortion pill, she is sent home from the abortion clinic with a second pill to take in the next two days, which will finish the abortion. The trauma of having her abortion alone and seeing her dead child lasts a lifetime. The adverse reactions of any type of abortion are often long and painful. They can range from depression, anxiety attacks, self-destructive behavior, or difficulty bonding with later children. The most heartbreaking of all is the effect it has on future families.

This year we are adding some much needed services to the already robust outreach of the clinics. The role of a Life Coach/Client Advocate will communicate with clients and provide mentorship for clients. This will help our nurses, since our number of clients has grown so significantly. We are also partnering with an organization called “Kaden’s Kloset” which provides material assistance to at-risk families and foster parents. Please keep these new ventures in your prayers. We are going to need volunteers for these roles and added finances.
